Nike’s Uruguay 2026 away kit introduces an dark design for the Uruguay national football team, to be worn during the 2026 FIFA World Cup and upcoming international fixtures.
Design & Inspiration
The new Uruguay jersey features a Obsidian base with integrated graphic elements inspired by the architectural identity of Montevideo. The visual structure references Art Deco influences found across the city, with specific nods to the Estadio Centenario and the Torre de los Homenajes. Across the upper chest and shoulders, a series of geometric light-based shapes are applied, drawing from the tower’s window formations and the way light interacts with its concrete structure.
A custom typeface has been developed for the wider kit collection, informed by signage and visual language associated with the 1930 FIFA World Cup. The AUF crest is positioned centrally on the chest with four stars above, paired with a Nike Swoosh below. Subtle vertical texturing is engineered into the fabric across both front and back panels.
The shirt includes a ribbed crew neck collar with a slight V-shaped front insert. The rear remains predominantly dark, with continued knit patterning and minimal external detailing. Laser Orange and Hyper Royal accents are incorporated within the graphic execution, creating contrast against the darker base.
Technical Features
Engineered using Nike Aero-FIT technology, the authentic version features a fabric developed at yarn and stitch level to create a textured knit with integrated mesh zones. These zones promote airflow, regulate temperature, and reduce cling against the skin to enhance comfort in high-temperature environments.
The replica version incorporates Nike Dri-FIT technology, helping to move sweat away from the skin and accelerate evaporation.
Full Kit details
The new Uruguay football shirt will be paired with black shorts and socks, completing the full Uruguay 2026 Nike Away kit for the 2026–27 international cycle, including FIFA 2026 World Cup fixtures and matches leading into the 2028 Copa América.
