Aston Villa Football Club and adidas have unveiled the Aston Villa 26/27 Away kit, which will be worn during the 2026-27 Premier League season and UEFA Champions League campaign.
Aston Villa Kit Design & Inspiration
The new Aston Villa jersey has a black base featuring a tonal all-over graphic inspired by the Gas Lamp, a symbol connected to the club’s foundation in 1874. According to Villa tradition, founding members gathered beneath a gas lamp near Villa Cross after watching a rugby match and agreed to form an association football club. The lamp motif references that meeting and is repeated across the jersey, with a small gold Gas Lamp symbol also positioned below the rear collar.
Gold is used for the adidas Trefoil, shoulder Three Stripes, Visit Rwanda shirt sponsor and Betano sleeve branding. On the chest, Villa’s lion is presented in gold with a star positioned above to reference the club’s 1982 European Cup triumph.
Claret and light blue are incorporated into the neckline and sleeve cuffs, where they sit alongside gold detailing. The combination introduces Aston Villa’s traditional colours into the otherwise black and gold Away jersey.
Technical Features
The Authentic shirt uses a slim fit with lightweight jacquard fabric, breathable zones and heat-applied crest and adidas branding. Herringbone tape is used for the Three Stripes.
The replica version also has a slim fit, using engineered doubleknit fabric with adidas Climacool technology for moisture management. Its details include an embroidered Trefoil, applied Three Stripes and sewn-on club crest.
Full Aston Villa Away Kit details
The new Aston Villa football shirt is paired with black shorts with gold adidas stripes, a gold lion crest and Trefoil branding. Black socks feature gold striping around the upper section, with claret and light blue bands adding further club-colour detailing.
