Sunderland sported a special one-off third kit when they faced Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Monday night.

The kit was intended to be worn in the unlikely event of a colour clash with both the home and away strips.

It appears though the Black Cats' shirt manufacturers adidas have used last season's Nottingham Forest third kit bar the shirt sponsors and badge.

The shirt will not be available at retail.

To all those complaining about this being a template: do you expect Adidas to design a unique shirt that won't be available for retail?

This shirt was made out of necessity and I think the colour combination is good.

yes it is a template kit and used to resolve a kit clash issue as both the home and away kits couldn't be worn at Crystal Palace....... but it does beg the question, how come last season's yellow away kit couldn't be used, given it's an adidas kit and has the same sponsor?

Getting fed up of hearing people moan about templates. It was for one match. Who cares. No one actually talks about shirts on this site anymore. They just moan about templates. Why?
