The colours with Uhlsport were Blue, Red and White but the club have returned to the colours that saw Gillingham survive relegation on the final day of the season in the Championship.

The new kit will also see a change in sponsor, as the clubs current sponsor - MHS Commercial - are ending their sponsorship with the club and a new sponsor is currently being negotiated

New sponsor

The Gills have announced that their sponsors from 2007 until 2010 will by Kent Reliance Buliding Society.

The news is of little surprise as it had been much speculated in recent weeks that the club and the local company were set to team up.

It has been announced that the two parties have signed a three-year deal which will see krbs.com appear on the Gills' shirts and the renaming of the club's ground to the krbs Priestfield Stadium.

The club have already revealed that the two parties are looking into a number of 'exciting initiatives which are set to benefit the people of Kent and beyond.'

Chairman Paul Scally has revealed that the deal is of more financial benefit to the club than the current agreement with mhs homes, which expires on July 1.

He told the club's official website; 'I'm delighted to have krbs.com on board, and the deal is one of the most commercially attractive certainly in this league, and in the fullness of time, I think it will also outperform many in the division above.

"This is a fantastic opportunity with a rapidly expanding national Building Society, with its roots right here in Kent, who have been described by many in the Financial media as the fastest and most progressive Building Society in the United Kingdom.'

Scally also paid tribute to the outgoing sponsors, who have been the club's main sponsors since 2004.

He added: 'They are indeed a credit to their members, and the club looks very much to continuing a positive relationship with John Sands and the group in the future.'
